Delete your account

In the app

1. Open TapeRule and tap the settings gear.
2. Scroll down and tap Delete account.
3. Type DELETE and confirm.

This deletes, straight away:

• your account on our server: your phone number or email, brand name, handle, logo, plan and free-plan count, and the key that opens your backups;
• the measurement book on your phone;
• your backup files in iCloud or Google Drive, when TapeRule can reach them. Any backup files left behind, and any backup files you exported, can no longer be opened.

Deleting your account does not cancel a TapeRule Unlimited subscription. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings.

Without the app

If you no longer have the app or the phone, email hello@taperule.app with the subject "Delete my TapeRule account" and the phone number or email you signed in with. To make sure the request is yours, we send a code to that phone number or email and ask you to reply with it. We delete the account and everything listed above within 30 days and reply when it is done.

Backups in your own iCloud or Google Drive are in your account, not ours: you can also delete them yourself. In Google Drive, open Settings, then Manage apps, find TapeRule and choose Delete hidden app data. On iPhone, open Settings, your name, iCloud, then Manage storage, and delete TapeRule's data.
